The Zemismart ZML1 is a smart recessed downlight that connects over WiFi using Matter, the shared standard behind Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings. Dim it from 1% to 100%, tune the white light from warm 2700K to cool 6500K, and control it by app, voice or schedule. It comes in three sizes for 70mm, 90mm and 120mm cut-outs.

Need a tilting, anti-glare light for artwork? See the ZMZ-SL. Want colours too? See the ZML1 RGB. More Matter lighting: the ZML2 smart filament bulb.

Works with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings

Scan the Matter QR code with the app you already use to add the light. You can share it with a second app later, so everyone in the house can use the one they prefer. There's no Zigbee hub to buy, but you'll need a Matter controller on your home network, such as:

  • an Apple HomePod or Apple TV
  • a Google Nest speaker or display
  • a Matter-compatible Amazon Echo
  • a SmartThings hub

Add the downlight by scanning its Matter QR code

Voice control

Say "Hey Siri, turn on the kitchen lights", "Alexa, dim the hallway to 30%" or "Hey Google, make the lights warmer".

Warm white for a relaxing evening, neutral white for everyday living, or cool daylight white for the kitchen or a home office.

Colour temperature from warm 2700K to cool 6500K

Dimmable from 1% to 100%

Set the exact brightness you want, from a soft night-time glow to full light.

Driver, heat sink and reset button

  • Separate isolated driver: the constant-current driver sits above the ceiling, away from the LED.
  • Aluminium heat sink: draws heat away from the LED.
  • Reset button on the driver: a simple factory reset if you ever need to re-pair the light.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a hub?

Not a Zigbee hub, but you do need a Matter controller, such as an Apple HomePod or Apple TV, a Google Nest speaker or display, a Matter-compatible Echo, or a SmartThings hub.

Which size should I choose?

Match the cut-out to your ceiling: 70mm for the 9W, 90mm for the 12W, or 120mm for the 15W. If you're replacing old downlights, measure the existing hole.

Is it shallow enough for my ceiling?

The light is 44mm deep. Leave room for the driver (126 × 44 × 29mm) above the ceiling as well.

Can it change colour?

This is the CW (tunable white) version: any white from 2700K to 6500K, but not RGB colours.

Can I use it with a dimmer switch?

No. Leave the wall switch on and dim it from the app or by voice.

Does it need an electrician?

Yes. It's a mains-wired ceiling light, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician.
