How deep does my box need to be?
Smart switch modules sit behind the plate and are usually about 25mm deep. In the UK, a 35mm deep back box gives room for the switch and the wires. Shallow 16mm or 25mm boxes may be too tight. Check the depth on each product page.
How to check
- Turn off the power at the consumer unit.
- Unscrew your current switch plate.
- Measure the distance between the two fixing screws, and the depth of the box.
