Real buttons, smart control, and every switch labelled

The Zemismart ZM101 is a Matter over WiFi push button light switch for standard UK 86mm back boxes. Each gang has a proper clicky push button with a small screen above it, so you can label your switches “KITCHEN”, “LAMP” or “GARDEN” and nobody has to guess which button does what. Because it speaks Matter, it pairs straight into Apple Home, Google Home or SmartThings without a separate brand bridge.

It comes in 1, 2 and 3 gang versions. If you prefer a flat glass touch panel instead of physical buttons, see the ZM206 Matter touch switch with display. Don’t need name screens? See the ZM106. Don’t need labels? See the ZM202.

Already have a Zigbee hub? See the ZMS-206EU Zigbee switch with display or the K6 Zigbee push button switch. Need US / 120×72mm size? See the ZMS-208US push button switch.

Why choose the ZM101

  • Physical push buttons. A positive press you can find in the dark, with a backlight and indicator you can turn on or off.
  • Name screen on every gang. Up to 8 letters per button, set in the Zemismart app.
  • Matter over WiFi. Pair it with Apple Home, Google Home or SmartThings by scanning the Matter QR code. No Zigbee hub needed, but you do need a Matter controller (see below).
  • UK size. 86 × 86mm plate with 60mm fixing centres, to suit a standard UK back box.
  • Voice control. Use Siri, Google Assistant or Bixby through your Matter platform.

Works with Apple Home, Google Home and SmartThings

Label your switches

Give each button its own name and it shows on the screen above it. You can use up to 8 letters per gang. Names can only be set in the Zemismart app, so add the switch to the Zemismart app as well as your main smart home app if you want custom labels.

Works like a normal switch too

Press the button and the light turns on or off, just like any wall switch. If your WiFi drops, the buttons still work locally.

Manual push button control

App settings and timers

In the app you can set a countdown, schedule on and off times, choose what the switch does after a power cut (relay status), and turn the indicator light and backlight on or off.

Voice control

Once it is in Apple Home, Google Home or SmartThings, you can say “Hey Siri, turn off the kitchen light” or ask Google Assistant or Bixby.

Setting it up

  1. Have a qualified electrician fit the switch (live and neutral required).
  2. Power on. Press and hold any button until the indicator flashes.
  3. Open Apple Home, Google Home or SmartThings and scan the Matter QR code on the switch.
  4. To set screen names, add the switch to the Zemismart app as well.

You will need a Matter controller

Matter devices need a controller (hub) on the same home network. Examples include Apple TV 4K (2nd or 3rd generation), HomePod (2nd generation) or HomePod mini, Google Nest Hub (2nd generation) or Nest Hub Max, Google Nest Wifi Pro, and SmartThings Station or Hub v3/v4. A Zemismart M1 Pro hub can also act as a Matter controller for the Zemismart app.

Frequently asked questions

Will the ZM101 fit a UK back box?

Yes. The plate is 86 × 86mm with 60mm fixing centres, the same as a standard UK single back box. The module is about 36mm deep behind the plate, so a 35mm or deeper box is recommended. Check the depth before buying, especially with flush metal boxes.

Does it need a neutral wire?

Yes. The ZM101 needs both live and neutral. Many older UK lighting circuits have no neutral at the switch, so check yours or ask an electrician.

Do I need a hub?

You don’t need a Zigbee hub, but you do need a Matter controller on your home network, such as an Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini, Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) or SmartThings Station.

Does it work with Alexa?

Alexa isn’t listed by the manufacturer for this model. It is tested with Apple Home, Google Home and SmartThings.

How do I change the names on the screen?

Names can only be set in the Zemismart app, up to 8 letters per gang. Add the switch to the Zemismart app using Matter multi-admin after pairing it with your main platform.

What’s the difference between the ZM101 and the ZM206?

Both are Matter switches with a name screen in UK 86mm size. The ZM101 has physical push buttons; the ZM206 has a flat touch panel.

Will it work if the WiFi goes down?

Yes, the buttons still switch the lights on and off. App, voice and automations need the network.

Can I fit it myself?

In the UK, mains wiring should be done by a qualified electrician and must comply with Part P of the Building Regulations.
