The Zemismart R5 is a surface-mounted smart rim lock with a fingerprint reader on both sides of the door. Outside, a slim panel gives you fingerprint, code, card and key entry. Inside, the stainless steel lock case has its own fingerprint reader and key. It connects straight to your 2.4GHz WiFi with no hub, so you can unlock it, share codes and check who came in from the Tuya app, wherever you are.

Five ways to unlock
- Fingerprint: a front-facing semiconductor sensor, on both the outside panel and the inside lock case.
- Code: 6–12 digit code on the backlit touch keypad.
- Card: tap one of the two key cards.
- App: unlock from anywhere in the Tuya or Smart Life app.
- Key: keys for the cylinder in the lock case.
Fingerprint on both sides
The R5 has a fingerprint reader on the inside lock case as well as the outside panel, so the door is controlled from both directions. That makes it a good choice for doors between two shared areas, such as an office suite, a shared house or a workshop.
Codes that stay private
Enter random digits before or after your real code, up to 24 digits in total, so anyone watching can't learn it. In the app, create time-limited codes for guests, cleaners or tradespeople, and send them from anywhere.
Room for the whole team
The lock stores up to 110 fingerprints and 400 codes, plus key cards, and the app keeps six months of unlock records.
WiFi app control, no hub needed
The R5 connects directly to your 2.4GHz home WiFi. In the Tuya or Smart Life app you can:
- unlock remotely, even from abroad
- see who unlocked, when and how
- add and remove users
- get alerts for low battery or unusual unlock attempts
- turn on passage mode to leave the door unlocked during busy hours
Where it fits
The R5 fits on the surface of timber, metal and framed glass doors 38–70mm thick, on left or right-hand doors. Because it's surface mounted, it only needs holes drilled through the door for the cylinder and cable, and no deep mortice cut into the edge.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a hub?
No. The R5 connects directly to 2.4GHz WiFi.
Why fingerprint on both sides?
It means you need a fingerprint, code or key to open the door from inside too. It's useful for doors between shared spaces where you want to control access both ways.
Is it hard to fit?
It's surface mounted, so you drill through the door for the cylinder and cable and screw the units on. No deep cut into the door edge is needed. If you're not confident with a drill, a locksmith or carpenter can fit it.
What thickness of door does it fit?
Doors from 38mm to 70mm thick.
Can I give guests temporary access?
Yes. Create time-limited codes in the app and send them from anywhere.
What if the battery runs out?
Power the lock from a power bank through the micro USB port, or use the key.
