A wireless light switch you can stick anywhere, with no wiring

The Zemismart ZB-L04C is a battery-powered Zigbee scene switch. It sticks to a wall, a bedside table or a desk with the 3M pads in the box, so you don’t need an electrician, a back box or any cutting into plaster. It’s a good fit for renters, period homes and any spot where running a new cable isn’t worth the mess.

It’s a wireless remote in the shape of a wall switch. It doesn’t switch mains power itself. Each button sends a command through your Tuya Zigbee hub to the smart devices you choose, such as smart bulbs, downlights, curtain motors, smart plugs or a whole scene.

UK-size 86mm plate, 1 to 4 buttons

The plate is 86 × 86mm and 9mm thick, the same footprint as a standard UK single switch plate. It sits neatly beside an existing switch or covers the gap where an old one used to be. Choose 1, 2, 3 or 4 buttons, depending on how many things you want to control from one spot.

Three actions per button: single, double and long press

In the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, every button can trigger a different action for a single press, a double press and a long press. A 4-button switch can therefore run up to 12 separate actions. One press can control several devices together, run a Tap-to-Run scene, or turn an automation on or off.

For example, a single press turns on the living room lights. A double press closes the curtains, and a long press switches everything off for the night.

Simple setup

1. Fit the CR2032 coin battery (not included).
2. Hold the reset button for about 5 seconds until the indicator lights flash.
3. In the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, open your Zigbee gateway and add the switch.
4. Choose a button and a press type, then pick the devices or scene it should control.

Tip: Some devices only offer separate “on” and “off” actions in the app rather than a toggle. In that case, set “on” on one button (or single press) and “off” on another (or double press).

Works locally over Zigbee

The switch talks to your hub over Zigbee, a low-power mesh network, so the battery lasts and the switch doesn’t add load to your WiFi. Zemismart states the switch keeps working when the internet is down, as long as the hub and the devices it controls run local Zigbee scenes.

Apple Home, Alexa and Google

The switch works with Apple Home when it is paired to a Zemismart M1 Pro or M6 hub. With a standard Tuya Zigbee hub, you can use it to trigger scenes that include Alexa- or Google-linked devices from the Tuya app.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an electrician to fit this switch?

No. It runs on a coin battery and sticks to the wall with adhesive pads, so there is no mains wiring.

Does it work without a hub?

No. It needs a Tuya-compatible Zigbee hub. It won’t connect to WiFi on its own or to a Bluetooth-only setup.

Can it turn on an ordinary (non-smart) light?

Not directly. It sends commands to smart devices. To control an ordinary light, pair it with a smart bulb, a smart plug or a wired smart switch. (Our ZM202 is WiFi/Matter, so the ZB-L04C can only trigger it through a Tuya scene, not directly over Zigbee.)

Will it fit over a UK switch box?

The plate is 86 × 86mm, the same footprint as a UK single plate, so it can cover a standard single back box once the old switch has been made safe by an electrician. It isn’t designed to be screwed into a back box. It sticks on.

What battery does it use, and how long does it last?

One CR2032 3V coin cell, which is not included. Battery life depends on how often you press it.

Can one button control several devices?

Yes. A single press, double press or long press can each run a scene that controls several devices at once.

Does it work with Apple Home?

Yes, when it is paired to a Zemismart M1 Pro or M6 hub.

Will it still work if my internet goes down?

Zemismart says yes for local Zigbee control through the hub. Cloud-based scenes and voice assistants need the internet.
